Kristopher Albert Free Brookins (1981 - 2020)
Kris
worked in several different trades throughout his life. He loved working with
his hands and worked as an electrician, painter, tattoo artist and body
piercer, plumber, cook, and demolition worker. Kris always took pride in his
work and hated to leave a job undone.
Kris was a natural artist with the heart of a poet. He loved music, dogs, and food. He was proud to be from Louisiana, and had a talent for cooking Cajun food. Kris loved to make people laugh and had a large circle of friends almost everywhere he went. Those who were lucky enough to see below the surface saw a man with a loving, generous heart who felt everything deeply.
Kris spent the last portion of his life working hard to become the man he always wanted to be. He spent time alone in quiet reflection and working on his art. He had become a believer in God and volunteered in a homeless shelter in his free time. The family would like to express thanks to Pastor Don and Deanne Williams of River City Church in Little Rock for making such a difference in Kris’ life. The church provided love, comfort, and acceptance to Kris when he needed it the most and we will be forever grateful.
Services will be held at River City Church in North Little Rock, AR on July 28th at 6pm. Those unable to attend can watch a livestream on Youtube. If you are interested in donating to Niko’s college fund on Kris’ behalf, please contact Kris’ mother Marge Brookins. Memorial donations to River City Church in Kris' name would also be appreciated, as it played such a profound role in Kris' life.
